from David Lynch

“You never create expecting people to love it. You create for creating. Some people will like it, some will hate it, and some will love it.”

“The idea is the whole thing. If you stay true to the idea, it tells you everything you need to know, really. You just keep working to make it look like the idea looked, feel like it felt, sound like it sounded, and be the the way it was. And it’s weird because when you veer off, you sort of know it. You know when you’re doing something that is not correct because it feels incorrect. You feel-think your way through.”

“When you see an aging building or a rusted bridge, you are seeing nature and man working together.”

“I’m painting with glue. I like texture, and oil paint is really expensive.”

from books

“In the middle ages, the women who were called witches were really very perceptive women. The male could not tolerate it, the priest could not tolerate it. The whole church has remained male-dominated, the whole Christian community is male. Not a single woman is involved in the trinity, the whole hierarchy is male. Witchcraft has nothing to do with it, it was man against woman, it was intelligence against intuition, it was reason against something which is irrational but very powerful.” -Osho, The Book of Women

Happiness is always with you. It has nothing to do with the weather, it has nothing to do with chopping wood, it has nothing to do with digging a hole in the garden. Happiness has nothing to do with anything, it is just the non-expectant, relaxed, at-ease state of your being with existence. And it is there: it does not come and go. It is always there, just like your breathing, your heartbeat, the blood circulating in your body.” -Osho, Joy: The Happiness That Comes From Within

“The reason the story runs so much with little girls as the actual heroes in this warfare is because under most circumstances, women are braver than men.” – Henry Darger

For 10 years, Darger kept track of the weather every day and compared notes with what the weatherman had said the weather would be. “Why does he say showers when no rain comes? He makes a perfect fool of himself.”

from life

Religion changes your title, spirituality changes your nature.

Mind and body really are one.

Sometimes it’s better not to allow yourself to adapt to a situation. Even if you list adaptation as one of your personal strengths, sometimes it’s better to get out before your adaptation has a chance to begin.

An external verification of your own perspective can sometimes solidify your perspective more than your own experiences can. I suppose that has to be okay.
